We are Alice and Martin, two comedians whose stage work encompasses stand-up, sketch, clowning and improv. Between us we’ve worked with young people in a range of educational and arts environments, and wanted to bring our passion and knowledge of comedy into similar settings.
Alice trained at Jacques Lecoq in Paris where she founded five-star theatre company Bric à Brac. She runs popular monthly alternative comedy night Piñata and performed her debut solo show in 2017. She regularly tailors clown workshops for youth theatres and schools, and has facilitated at festivals alongside companies such as Gecko and Disney. She is also an actor in Punchdrunk’s flagship enrichment show, ‘The Lost Lending Library’.
As well as performing regularly as a semi-professional stand-up and sketch comedian, Martin runs comedy production company Objectively Funny ("the art form's cutting edge"The Guardian), is the Programmer at West End comedy venue, The Albany, and has written a comedy column for the Independent. His double act Loose Brie has been nominated for multiple awards and has written and performed for BBC Radio 1, BBC3 and Comic Relief. He was a mentor for The Challenge’s apprenticeship programme for two years and previously taught English to children in Madrid.
